Heart to Soul. A poem for my Father.
Take me with you when you fly
And leave me here unfinished
Take me when you leave again
To focus inward
For I would have legs So I could travel
A heart to beat
So that I may breathe it
That flavor of it
The fight within
The never ending second guessing
For when I'm there with you
When the twisting of you
Begins again
I can try to unravel the fraying knot
And weave back together the ends unfinished
For you are born but once it seems
A flash of color, effervescence seamed.
And in this cloth, If I were with you
Your color would return, a happy finish
So take me with you when you fly
Do not leave me unfinished
Take me when you leave again
To focus inward
For I would see you
That which you fear
A broken vessel
So that I could fill it
And watch the water flow
In crack and crevice and broken handle
For I would see you
A happy finish
